Bill Laplante

President

Bill became the president of Laplante Construction in 2003. He first joined the family business during his high school years, and this continued while he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. After graduating in 1992, Bill joined the framing crew and spent the next five years in the field. He is a past president of the Western Massachusetts Home Builders Association and holds the Certified Green Professional™ designation from the National Association of Home Builders. In 2020 Bill expanded the company’s reach beyond western Massachusetts by opening a satellite office in Orleans on Cape Cod providing custom home building, remodeling and light commercial services. In 2022, he received the “Legend of the Industry” award by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Massachusetts.

Ray Laplante

Founder

Ray founded Laplante Construction in 1964 and is still an active member of the team. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Ray is dedicated to understanding each client’s vision so the job is done right the first time around. His favorite part of his work is stepping back to view the finished product; what he sees always assures him that the job was done right. Ray’s drive and deep knowledge, gained through over 55 years in the business, forms the foundation for the outstanding reputation that Laplante Construction holds throughout Massachusetts and northern Connecticut.

1 Rich Walz

Rich Walz

Project Manager

Rich has had the privilege of working for Laplante Construction since 1988. Residing in the town of Brewster, he is responsible for all of Laplante’s Cape and Island projects. He has seen every angle of the business and appreciates every day on the job. What he loves most is developing long-term relationships with his clients and colleagues and creating a home that his clients will enjoy for many years to come.

Rich Gale

Project Manager

Rich has spent over thirty years in the construction business: working in the field, running a framing crew, and as a project manager since 2001. From the beginning of the project to the very end, Rich makes himself fully available to his clients, which makes the process stress-free for them. Rich’s favorite part of the job is watching a project transform into something wonderful from scratch, whether it’s a complete renovation on a home, or building a brand new home on a raw piece of land.

Chris Mott

Project Manager

Chris started his career with an MBA in hotel management, but always kept a passion for construction active. After working in hotels in Colorado and NYC, Chris joined Laplante Construction in 2007 as a punch list finish carpenter. He moved up to site management and then became a full project manager. Chris enjoys the challenges of running a project from the ground up and learning from the homeowners what they like and need. He places an emphasis on communication and relationship to make jobs run smoother for everyone involved. He strives to give his clients an end-product they will cherish.

James Bertier

Project Manager

James graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Criminal Justice. He joined Laplante Construction in 2011, first working summers, and moving up to being a carpenter. After working in real estate and construction for several years, he returned to Laplante Construction in 2018 and is now a project manager. He oversees the construction of additions, remodels and new builds. His favorite thing about working with Laplante Construction is helping his clients see their dream house or renovation come to life.

1 Brooke Vartanian

Brooke Vartanian

Design Coordinator

Brooke is the Design Coordinator at Laplante Construction, helping to guide clients through the design selection process. Brooke graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with an Associate Degree in Architecture and Building Technology. She also holds a Certificate in Interior Design from Boston Architectural College. She familiarizes herself with clients’ visual aesthetic and style goals, often creating visual documents or “mood boards,” and helps clients make selections for tile, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, counter tops and other design items. Her passion is to assist clients during the building and remodeling process to create beautiful and functional homes to fit their lifestyles.
